It's like this every two months: on a Saturday afternoon, the Simultaneous Openings return to the Miguel Bombarda Quarter. Contemporary art galleries open their doors with new exhibitions, while exhibition, commercial and alternative spaces debut collections, all accompanied by entertainment programmed by Ágora.
Between 4pm and 7.30pm, in the pedestrianised area of Rua de Miguel Bombarda that intersects with Cedofeita, the ‘Urban Sketching’ drawing workshop will take place, led by Vasco Mota, who in 2021 created the Rabiscar o Porto project with the aim of bringing together people of all ages to illustrate the city in situ. To take part, you don't need any previous knowledge or materials, which will be made available at the time. You can sign up (free of charge) by emailing vascopeixoto.mota@gmail.com.
At the same time, but on the other side of the street, at the intersection with Boa Nova, the pavement will host a waacking and house dance workshop, with an on-site soundtrack by DJ Julnako. This moment dedicated to two styles of disco music, organised by the YOLK project, will be led by dancers and teachers Catarina Campos and Melissa Sousa. Anyone can join in, no registration required.

Finally, as usual, there will be two guided tours of some of the galleries opening exhibitions. The tours will be led by visual arts students from the Escola Superior de Educação, with translation into Portuguese sign language provided by the Associação de Tradutores e Intérpretes de Língua Gestual Portuguesa (Association of Portuguese Sign Language Translators and Interpreters). There is a shift at 4pm and another at 5.30pm, with 15 places on each. Those interested should send their name and time slot to visitasguiadasbombarda@agoraporto.pt (by 1pm on 15 November).
The author of the poster for this sixth edition in 2024 is the illustrator and professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, Rui Vitorino Santos, who is inaugurating a solo show at Ó! Galeria (Rua de Miguel Bombarda, 61). The font partnership with Colönia Studio has been maintained.
