Fogo Fogo have funaná as their starting point, afro beat and the complementary influence of other styles and experiences of each musician who makes up the band. They emerged "directly from Casa Independente to the world", after the famous hot dances that shook the floor of this Lisbon house once a month.

The origin of the band's name comes from "the mixture of two concepts with the same word; the island of Fogo, in Cape Verde, where Funaná's roots are, and the song 'Fogo Fogo' by Fela Kuti, a Nigerian multi-instrumentalist who pioneered Afro-beat," he says.

After releasing Fladu Fla, their first album of originals, in 2021, they are now back with Nha Riqueza, an album that "is movement, is dance, and has the function of getting the body moving". The proposal for tomorrow night is "the liberation of the body, in a constant and contagious movement, at a frenetic party pace". "It's a reflection of what's happening on stage; this song is meant to invite people to move their hips. We're going to dance non-stop!" he says.

This could be a "physically demanding" concert. That's why "there's no shortage of joy, water and beer to hydrate", advises Edu. Those who follow this band already know that they should bring a change of clothes because the night is about dancing and sweating - it's going to be fire!

Fogo Fogo are Edu Mundo (drums and percussion), João Gomes (keys), Danilo Lopes (guitar, cavaquinho, mandolin and vocals), David Pessoa (vocals, guitar and stings) and Francisco Rebelo (bass).
