“Then Again” is a solo exhibition of drawings and maquettes by American artist Alicia Eggertthat visualize large-scale, long-term projects the artist is currently undertaking or is planning for the future. A reproduction of Eggert’s massive ink drawing, “All the Moments Before and After Now,” is installed as a site-specific mural for Galeria Fernando Santos. The image depicts a pile of rocks that are each labeled with the word “THEN,” which can signify both past and future, representing an accumulation of all the moments before and after “NOW.” The mural is accompanied by small ink drawings of individual rocks on paper, all of which reference a project the artist is currently undertaking: carving “THEN” into stones she intends to amass for the remainder of her life.
