With a semi-documentary narrative, Luca Guadagnino's first feature follows an Italian film crew that has just arrived in London to reconstruct a real murder committed in the early 90s. As they recreate the events and explore the motives behind the crime, the line between reality and fiction begins to blur, leading the filmmakers to question their role in reinterpreting violence. Starring Tilda Swinton, the film premiered at Cannes, where it received a controversial reception, and is now presented in a 4K restored version — sourced from the original negatives and overseen by the director — by the Cineteca di Bologna in collaboration with Surf Film, at the L'Immagine Ritrovata laboratory.
