Biographies
ANTÓNIO OLAIO, 1963, Lubango, Angola.
António Olaio, Lubango, Angola, 1963. Lives in Coimbra. He studied Plastic Arts/Painting at the Porto School of Fine Arts. PhD in 2000 on the work of Marcel Duchamp at the University of Coimbra, in the Department of Architecture, where he is a professor. Researcher at CEIS20.
Painter and performer. His performances in the early 1980s led him to music. He was one of the founders of the rock group ‘Repórter Estrábico’ in 1986 and, since 1995, the songs he makes with João Taborda and many other musicians are often featured in his videos and exhibitions. ‘Anywhere Else’ (his latest album) featured collaborations with Richard Strange, Victor Torpedo, Vitor Rua, Frederico Nunes, Anselmo Canha, Paulo Furtado, José Valente, Érika Machado, Silvestre Correia, Susana Chiocca, Luís Figueiredo, Ana Deus, Haarvöl, Pedro Tudela and Miguel Carvalhais. He was one of the founders of the rock group ‘Repórter Estrábico’ in 1986 and, since 1995, his songs with João Taborda and many other musicians have been frequently featured in their videos and exhibitions. ‘Anywhere Else’ (his latest album) featured collaborations with Richard Strange, Victor Torpedo, Vitor Rua, Frederico Nunes, Anselmo Canha, Paulo Furtado, José Valente, Érika Machado, Silvestre Correia, Susana Chiocca, Luís Figueiredo, Ana Deus, Haarvöl, Pedro Tudela and Miguel Carvalhais.
His recent collaboration with musician, actor and performer Richard Strange has resulted in musical projects, but also performance projects such as the piece/performance ‘When you awake, you will remember nothing’, presented in Coimbra, Lisbon, Porto and London.

RICHARD STRANGE, 1958, London
Since the creation of his band Doctor's of Madness in 1975, Richard Strange has been like Zelig, with a presence felt in every corner of London's cultural life. He founded the influential Cabaret Futura in 1980, a concert and performance venue where bands like Depeche Mode played their first gigs. As an actor, he has worked with Tim Burton, Neil Jordan, Martin Scorsese, Harmony Korine and Bob Wilson.
