As part of the public programme for Jonathan Uliel Saldanha's exhibition 'Surface Disorder', there will be a conversation with Zachary Mainen, an American neuroscientist whose research focuses on the brain mechanisms involved in decision-making. Also taking part will be Gonçalo Guiomar, whose research focuses on understanding the mechanisms by which organisms learn to construct representations of the world, using methods and frameworks from neuroscience, mathematics and machine learning.
Jonathan Uliel Saldanha is part of an art and science collective based at the Champalimaud Foundation, which also includes Zachary Mainen and Gonçalo Guiomar. The lecture will focus on the different ways in which technology can enrich the human experience.
