In this premiere, we have our beloved Pedro Almiro with his Raw Sun project and Susana Santos Silva. In this first Transit we will have a convergence between the two, and a solo from each.
Establishes holistic starting points for the discovery of rhythm, in the dialogue between the performer, a drum and a delay effect. With a free attitude, spaces are opened for the resulting ephemeral and transitory sound fragments. It is a clear recognition of intuition, the availability of the performer/listener and the quality of perception (active listening) that the sound brings to us and that makes us sensitive to its status as music. After an academic background studying drums, Pedro Almiro draws inspiration from the minimalist aesthetics of the 60s, Brion Gysin’s legendary cut-ups and ancient rhythmic traditions, and continues to challenge his own practice as a musician and composer in Berlin . He released RAW SUN (Album 2022), Iodine Eye (EP 2021) independently and two cassettes with his band HIBYLO, through Average Negative and Kinship. It is currently preparing its next release.

Trumpeter, improviser and composer from Porto, Susana Santos Silva has been, in recent years, considered by the international press as one of the strongest and most emerging voices in contemporary jazz and improvised music. “One of the most exciting improvisers in the world” (Downbeat).
With a unique approach, which emerges from a wide spectrum of influences, from classical and contemporary music to jazz and textural art, he is interested in challenging the limits of the instrument and exploring new forms of expression within music as well as creatively exploring dissolution of the boundaries of perception, gender and media. He leads his projects Impermanence and Life and Other Transient Storms and maintains collaborations with legendary guitarist Fred Frith, Torbjörn Zetterberg, Hampus Lindwall, Kaja Draksler, among others. At the end of 2022, his fourth solo album, All The Birds And A Telephone Ringing, was released by the Swedish label Thanatosis, exploring the use of field recordings.
He shared the stage, among many others, with Anthony Braxton, Evan Parker, Chris Cutler, Craig Taborn, Chris Speed, Mat Maneri, Paul Lovens, Hamid Drake, Catherine Christer Hennix.
