On July 22, 2025, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Alfândega Porto Congress Centre will host the RARE FOOD FAIR, the final event of the European project RADIANT (https://www.radiantproject.eu/), coordinated by the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Porto Regional Centre (UCP). The RADIANT project promotes underutilised crops such as legumes, fruits, and cereals, fostering their integration into sustainable agri-food value chains. The RARE FOOD FAIR aims to engage the public and stakeholders in the sector actively, encouraging the adoption of new, high-quality products that tell stories of tradition and innovation.
Open to the public and free of charge, the fair will showcase local, regional, and organic products cultivated through sustainable agricultural practices. In addition to product exhibitions and sales, the event will highlight the importance of local gastronomy and socio-economic contexts related to traditional and sustainable foods. This inclusive gathering invites citizens, families, farmers, municipalities, schools, companies, and chefs to explore and exchange ideas on innovative and sustainable food practices. The organization anticipates the participation of citizens from various countries, making this fair a unique opportunity to promote Portuguese products of excellence, allied with sustainability, to an international audience. Those interested in participating as exhibitors (free of charge) should contact the organization at joana@ipnc2025.org .
