Next Thursday (March 13), at 9:30 p.m., in Room 210 of ESMAE, classical music will come to life in an unmissable concert by the Musethica Quartet. Part of the European project “1000+ Concerts: Innovating Higher Music Education through Social Inclusion”, this show brings together Avri Levitan, Djonathan Inácio da Silva, Catarina Gonçalves and Luz Elisabeth Sánchez Suero in a program ranging from Bach to Shostakovich.
Musethica Quartet:
Avri Levita - Viola Artist Coordinator (Musethica International)
Djonathan Inácio da Silva - Viola (ESMAE)
Catarina Gonçalves - Viola (ESMAE)
Luz Elisabeth Sánchez Suero - Viola (Musethica International)
About the project:
1000+ Concerts: Innovating Higher Music Education through Social Inclusion” is an ambitious vision for change in the classical music sector: it trains a new generation of musicians to understand themselves as an integral part of society and to take responsibility for bringing live music to those who can least access it. Through the implementation of the Musethica program, the Project reintroduces performance practice at the heart of young musicians' development, highlighting the value of performance skills and audience involvement. Over four years, ten European partner institutions join forces with more than 120 social institutions - including hospitals, prisons, refugee centers and schools for people with disabilities - to bring more than 1,000 free concerts to a minimum of 40,000 marginalized audiences across Europe.
