Ducret / Mockunas / Blaser Trio

A trio of musicians who are widely recognised on the European scene, this project has already played more than a dozen concerts on its European tour. With a strong improvisation component, the music is the result of the interaction between three intense forces. Marc Ducret, a historic French musician, with a vast CV in his own right and as a collaborator in projects with other peers, an important figure in any line-up, who is joined here by Swiss trombonist and composer Samuel Blaser and Lithuanian Liudas Mockunas, one of the most prominent leaders in the field of improvised music, with more than 70 albums recorded and constantly on the move at renowned European festivals and clubs. This trio's proposal is one of the most intense moments in the programme of the Porta-Jazz Festival.

In Mosaico, this trio's second album, released under the Porta-Jazz label in 2023, we once again hear the three different imaginations of the musicians who make up this line-up come together, like three colours that slowly merge, resulting in new colours in a bigger picture. The unusual format, without bass, opens up the soundscape, leaving room for improvisation and surprise. Since the members have had a musical complicity for several years, everything here comes together in a natural and integrated way, with the confidence to explore and challenge boundaries.
