Caffenol Workshop
Learn how to create cameraless photographs
Oficina de Caffenol
Franziska Nagelová

The workshop provides opportunities for others to learn how to create a more sustainable developer for printing and developing in analog photography. Caffenol is a homemade film and print developer made from home-based ingredients, offering an alternative to traditional chemical developers.

Caffenol is less harmful to the environment than normal photographic chemical due to its use of natural ingredients, reducing the reliance on toxic chemicals and minimizing environmental impact.

It is an alternative way of expression in photography and arts. In the workshop there will be provided photographic paper for the participants in order to make an original chemigram print for themselves and take it home. The end result will be not fixated and can disappear.

In this 2-3 hour workshop, we will experiment with caffenol, photopaper, lights and various ingredients to help you create your own prints developed with a natural developer. Collect pieces of your natural surroundings; take a walk in the park, by the sea, or in the forest. Press flowers, algae, feathers, soil, or any other materials you find in your environment – nature is welcome.

After the session, you will have the opportunity to take your work home and use it practically in your daily life.
