Throughout the 20th century, and especially from the 1960s onwards, Contemporary Art explored the concept of the "Artist's Book", works in book format, with small print runs, usually numbered and signed, which served as a medium for the artistic expression of their Authors. From a wider range of artists who have explored the concept, the names of Lourdes Castro, Julião Sarmento, Paula Rego and the duo Daniel Moreira/Rita Castro Neves stand out, as they favoured publishing as a means of expression. Casa dos Livros will present a tour of the Artist's Book in Portugal, based above all on a private collection. The event will be marked by the launch of a specially designed Artist's Book by Daniel Moreira and Rita Castro Neves.
