MRCOMEDINA recently released his first studio album 'Crónicas de Balazac', which he will present at MIRA FORUM on 9 February at 21h30.
Marco António Medina Andrade, known in the music industry as MRCOMEDINA, is a young artist who has been carving out a place for himself among a select group of conceptual artists.
The son of emigrant parents and raised between Lisbon, Porto and Barcelona, MRCOMEDINA brings together references from traditional Afro-Brazilian music and Afro-American jazz blues, bases that define him as a musician and even as a person.
From the digital platforms to the stages of art spaces in the industrial areas of the Lisbon capital, the artist has presented 5 celebratory editions of the 'Roda Punk Jazz' EP, to the acclaim of his listeners.
Just a year into his career, the musician has performed at Núcleo A70, Bota Anjos, Fábrica de Braço de Prata and closed the 2022 edition of the Iminente Festival at the Cine Estúdio venue, receiving a lot of praise from the festival organisers and the artists present. He was also a guest on RTP Africa's 'Bem Vindos' programme and the podcasts 'Cidade Invisível' on Antena 1 and 'Movimento' on the AbrilAbril portal.
His lyrical ability, through the creation of characters and scenarios, and his stage presence are inseparable from the artist. MRCOMEDINA has already shown himself to be bold and unpredictable, leaving audiences unsure of his next steps.
This year, he has already performed at the Suburbano Festival, organised by Rádio Universidade de Coimbra, and has a concert scheduled at Casa da Música in Porto.
He recently released his first studio album 'Crónicas de Balazac', which promises to make him stand out on the Portuguese music scene.
