"Love is a fire that burns... Contemporary poets respond to Camões is a poetry show that confronts Camões' poetics with contemporary poets such as David Mourão Ferreira or Adília Lopes or even Mário Cesariny, Maria Teresa Horta, Manuel Alegre or Hilda Hilst, among others. Using essentially the lyrical work of the Renaissance poet, the sonnets and stanzas are placed thematically in the presence of contemporary poems, as a response or commentary on the Camonian theme.
This exercise results in the compilation of a script that aims to illustrate the contemporaneity of the Renaissance poet, precisely at the time when the quincentenary of his birth is being celebrated.
With an estimated duration of around sixty minutes, the poetry is set to an epochal soundtrack. For this recital, Sinais de Cena is inviting new performers, making up six artists on stage." — Sinais de Cena
