Strength, endurance, synchronisation, grace, swimming and... art. Save your breath and get ready for what will be Porto's first International Artistic Swimming Meeting, taking place on the last weekend of February. The competition will take place in the pools of the centenary Clube Fluvial Portuense. Female and male athletes from clubs and sports associations from all over the country, as well as international organisations from Spain, Switzerland and Finland, will be taking part, from the training, children's, youth, junior, absolute and masters levels. At a time when the National Artistic Swimming Team is aiming to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, "meetings like the one taking place in Invicta are particularly important as they not only arouse interest among Porto's athletes, clubs and associations to develop artistic swimming in the city, but also promote the affirmation of this discipline at national level," said Sílvia Pinto, artistic swimming coach at Clube Fluvial Portuense. - S.O.
