Hery Paz is a New York based Cuban multi-instrumentalist, composer and visual artist. At the heart of his artistic practice we find a resolute dedication to expand the frontiers of his cultural philosophy, crystalizing an amalgam of expressions between improvisation, composition, visual arts and poetry. His playing is imbued with a depth of purpose, a sense of patience and a willingness to venture into the unknown. Paz is an integral element of the creative music scene in New York City where he has worked with Dave Liebman, William Parker, Cooper Moore, Ralph Alessi, Francisco Mela, Tom Rainey, John Hebert, Thomas Morgan, Román Díaz, Kris Davis, Nate Wooley, Miguel Zenón, Leo Genovese, Ethan Iverson, Gerald Cleaver, Afro Cuban All Stars Band, Buena Vista Social Club, Juan De Marcos Gonzales, Dan Weiss, Jacob Sacks & Joe Morris.

Marcos Cavaleiro was born in Basel and began his musical studies in the city of Guarda. He attended the Taller de Musics school in Barcelona and, later, graduated from the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo in Porto. Along the way, he had the opportunity to collaborate with André Fernandes, Bernardo Sasseti, Bernardo Moreira, Carlos Bica, Demian Cabaud, Ernesto Jodos, Guillermo Klein, Jeffery Davis, Jean-Michel Pilc, João Paulo Esteves da Silva, Julian Arguelles, Kevin Hays, Leo Genovese, Maria João and Mário Laginha, Matt Renzi, Melo D, Nuno Ferreira, Ohad Talmor, Pedro Moreira, Ricardo Toscano, Thomas Morgan, among others.
He has collaborated with Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos since 2007, having had the privilege of working with Carla Bley & Steve Swallow, Chris Cheek, Ethan Iverson & David Virelles, Fred Hersch, Jim McNeely, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Lee
Konitz, Maria Schneider, Maria Rita, Maria João, Mayra Andrade, Mark Turner, Manuel Cruz, Manuela Azevedo, Marta Ren, Michael Mantler, Perico Sambeat, Rich Perry, Rebecca Martin and Sérgio Godinho.
In 2020 he released his first album entitled “Sete” (Carimbo PortaJazz), with musicians André Fernandes, João Guimarães, José Pedro Coelho and North American double bassist Thomas Morgan.
