EN
O Último Cigarro explores an eternal dialogue between man and woman in paradise lost, centred on the characters Paul, an American writer, and Iris, a university student. As they transform into historical figures such as Mikhail Bakhtin, Hannah Arendt and Roberto Rossellini, the plot travels through New York, St Petersburg, Lisbon, Marseille and Rome, in the context of the Second World War. The book mixes literature, cinema and music, weaving a labyrinth of cultural references and philosophical reflections. The presentation at Batalha will be accompanied by a screening of excerpts from some of the films featured in the book, along with a full-length film selected by António Roma Torres.
Session with António Roma Torres, Gabriela Moita (psychologist) and Francisco Luís Parreira (writer and playwright). Free entry.
