A Portuguese person, Janeiro, and a Brazilian, Paulo Novaes, joined forces to create a unique fusion between Portuguese song and MPB. This resulted, in 2020, in the EP Protocolar - Vol. I and, at the end of 2023, in the album Protocolar - Vol. II, which the duo now presents to the public at Casa da Música. Two phrases that recur throughout the album represent the core of this project: "If you don't live, you'll never know" and "There's life out there". These are axes of an appeal for an existence in tune with the world around us, more fluid, less bureaucratised, which the two musicians followed to the letter in the creative and production process.
