On February 13th, we come together to launch the first FAUP Test!
This year, the route starts in the heart of our city, at Ferro Bar, moving on to Maus Hábitos, and finally culminating in the gardens of the Carlos Ramos Pavilion at FAUP.
After three nights of preparation, we look forward to seeing you on May 16th at FAUPfest.
Kicking off the night at Ferro Bar, we have Lesma, a trio with the distinct sound of a frenetic southern margin, set to bring chants to the audience and energy at the perfect point to dance to apocalyptic sonic bursts.
Following an already intense night, the second trio, Penumbra, takes the stage. The common vertex between Mindelo, Leça da Palmeira, and Matosinhos materializes in Penumbra, a trio that made a basement the cradle of a monster—created, tamed, and compressed into the revolutionary and antifascist soul of Porto. Their sound defies labels except for the adjective "heavy," as proven by their debut EP Banda Gástrica.
To close—or extend—the night, System Sophie steps in as DJ. She brings an intense energy to the dance floor, with sets influenced by IDM, EBM, Industrial, Breakbeat, Jungle, and Trance. Sofia is also a co-founder of the Durumx9 project, collaborating with other artists from Guimarães in improvised music sessions held in unexpected locations. Alongside João Araújo (snieee), she created the Sneil System, focused on Experimental Techno performances. Currently, she is also part of the UMER collective.
