On 6 March we return for the second FAUP Test of 2025!
This second stop in the cycle of three events will be at Maus Hábitos, before the cycle is finalised in the FAUP gardens. The three nights prepare for the next edition of FAUPfest in May.
The evening heats up with 𝗖𝗔𝗩𝗔𝗟𝗔, a quintet that combines music with poetry and performance. The five embraced the challenge of learning and growing together in music, transforming inexperience into freedom for creation, experimentation and repetition. The original texts, full of humour and irony, play with words, meanings and sounds, weaving criticism and deconstructing prejudices. The result is an eclectic sound, framed in an experimental line of art rock, new wave, pop punk or post-punk.
We're continuing the party with 𝗔𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗺𝗲 (@astrodomeband), a four-piece psychedelic rock band from Porto, Portugal, formed in 2014. In a new phase of their existence, the band is exploring new sound textures, marking a definitive evolution of their sound, without losing the stylistic essence that defines them. Each track is conceived as a sonic journey, reflecting a more mature and careful approach to the band's style, consolidating their unique identity.
To finish, we have 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘀. It proposes an innovative mix between the psychedelic sounds of analogue electronics and the slow African rhythms of Kizomba, Zouk, Tarraxinha and Afroswing. With a musical background that includes projects such as José Pinhal Post-Mortem Experience, Bruno de Seda, Equations or Suave Geração, Prestes also explores dance floors as DJs, absorbing the richness of the Afro-diasporic musical movement.
