Ching-Yu Cheng worked as traditional Portuguese azulejos (tiles) painter for years (2017-2020) to support her life in Porto, and she sees this as more of a survival skill than an artistic creation. This time, by spending two months at the De Liceiras 18 artist residency, she has taken up this skill of tile painting and put it into an artistic project that will be exhibited at Galeria Ocupa and then, on 24 May, at De Liceiras 18' newly-located studio.
