Exposição da 10ª edição MIRA Pinhole Photography
Exhibition of the 10th edition of MIRA Pinhole Photography
Imagens Periféricas | ciclo “Fotografia Lesta e Lenta”
Exposição da 10ª edição MIRA Pinhole Photography

As part of the ‘Slow and Fast Photography’ programme, on Saturday 16 November at 4pm, two photography exhibitions will open from two competitions that celebrate photography captured by devices with 100% and 0% technology. We appreciate the speed of photography in recording and editing provided by mobile phone technology and the slowness of the pinhole, in which technology is absent. The simultaneity of the two exhibitions reflects the way MIRA positions itself in relation to photography: MIRA Mobile Prize Street Photography B&W (18th edition) and MIRA Pinhole Photography | Peripheral Images (10th edition).

The photographs on display are the result of the 10th international open call. We aim to bring together a significant collection of photographs taken with pinhole cameras. We enthusiastically welcome works that bring us perspectives, emotions and feelings from different parts of the world.
The 50 selected photographs are part of this exhibition and dozens of photographs of great technical and aesthetic quality will also be projected. The works exhibited and projected are testimony to the fact that pinhole photography has followers who keep the magic of one of the oldest forms of photography alive in the contemporary world.

There are four curators for this edition - Adelino Marques, António Martins Teixeira, Augusto Lemos and Rui Apolinário - responsible for selecting the photographs
