The Núcleo dos Imigrantes das Belas Artes - NIBA invites you to EM VOZ ALTA, a reading circle that will take place every fortnight during the academic year at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP).

Reading Circle | EM VOZ ALTA

⏰ Date: 06, 13 and 27 November and 11 December
at 17h00

📍 Meeting point: Carlos Ramos Pavilion at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (Av. de Rodrigues de Freitas 265, Porto)

FREE ENTRY.

The invitation is to read together texts by decolonial, feminist and anti-racist thinkers aloud for one hour. The meeting point will be at the entrance to the Carlos Ramos Pavilion. To find us, look for the blue sign.

The idea behind the circle: Taking the time to read carefully can be an act of resistance when time is increasingly monetised, including in the arts. The circle is open to anyone passing by: let's stop, read and resist - between classes, on the way home, during the break.

As a student collective, EM VOZ ALTA is part of NIBA's welcoming work, which includes the sharing of decolonial knowledge among students. Sharing a reading together of voices with different intonations, accents and pronunciations allows for a moment of conscious presence committed to ideas of decolonial and feminist resistance in the daily life of the faculty.
