Entries are still open to take part in Palavra Dita's Intergenerational and Multicultural Choir. Until mid-March, with Bairro dos Livros, we're rewriting the Cancioneiro do Porto. The winning project of Pedro Ivo's competition for ideas for the Popular Library, and promoted by the Museums and Libraries of Porto, is aimed at the various national and foreign adult audiences that cross the geographical territory of the Popular Library, providing a space for dialogue on current issues that challenge these communities.
A group of 60 citizens will create a plural collective of poetic intervention, updating the Cancioneiro do Porto. The project includes the participation of rapper MAZE (Dealema), poet and performer Renato Filipe Cardoso, writer and librarian Raquel Patriarca and researcher and bookseller Paulo Brás. In the process of producing this artistic piece, different disciplinary areas will be brought together, from oral tradition to theatre and sound, using literature and critical thinking as an agglutinating tool.
At the end, there will be a collective performance that will occupy the bandstand in Praça Marquês de Pombal.
