This year marks the 49th anniversary of the Portuguese Constitution (CRP), born out of the revolution that began on April 25, 1974, and the struggle of the Portuguese people.

Given that the CRP is the foundational law of the entire Portuguese legal system and a charter of unity for our collective life in a free and sovereign nation, it is essential to reaffirm the will and determination to respect, uphold, and enforce it.

In this context, on April 2, 2025, at 6:00 PM, a public commemorative session will take place at Praça Gomes Teixeira (Praça dos Leões), in Porto, marking the promulgation of the Portuguese Constitution.

The undersigned associations and collectives invite everyone to take part in this initiative—an affirmation of support and confidence in the values of April, against war, and in defense of peace.
