'Common Thing' is an operative concept for engaging with some of the processes of spacial planning, understood in the light of the transmission of inheritances, especially those derived from uses and customs. It is about a speculative exercise that aims to analyze layers of overlaping and dialoguing meanings and functions through the creation of 'communicating vessels' — the creation of bridges between apparently irreconcilable scales, patterns, and dimensions — to explore the tensions and spaces of interaction between ideas, forms, and contexts that persist at different historical moments and mark the relationship with place.
