A prominent name in contemporary photography, Eldad Rafaeli's work synthesizes a new type of subjectivity in which intimacy and social criticism converge to create images of great beauty, power and meaning. Until June 23, 2024, the Centro Português de Fotografia, in Porto, presents “The Way to the High Mountain”, the first exhibition in Portugal dedicated to his photographic work.

Curated by Ângela Ferreira, “The Way to the High Mountain” presents the seminal work of the Israeli artist, revealing some iconographic images from his artistic career of almost 40 years, alongside recently produced images, taking the visitor through a journey between light and shadow. Eldad Rafaeli's photography is an impactful portrait of the complexity of human narratives, permeated by a dialectical tension between life and death.
