Cantares do Andarilho, or “Wanderer Songs”, reinterprets José Afonso’s work, drawing inspiration from his 1983 concert at the Lisbon Coliseu, and features several modern-day artists invited by his son, Pedro Afonso. Rooted in the tradition and musical innovation that were part of José Afonso’s musical approach, the project also delivers modernity and elegance through an innovative audiovisual show. It brings together Portuguese and international artists and will culminate in the release of a live album, a documentary and a film-concert.
