From the tropical and rugged expressions of Pernambuco to the baroque soul sounds of Minas Gerais, Alceu Valença’s music meets Orquestra Ouro Preto in the concert Valencianas, which lends a chamber music treatment to the themes of the acclaimed Brazilian composer. According to Valença himself, this is “a show for the soul and the ears, crafted with elegance and sensitivity, capable of moving audiences in any venue around the world”. Conductor Rodrigo Toffolo adds that Valencianas “pays tribute to the master but also to the profound Brazilian essence that his work evokes”.
