Mahler’s Fourth Symphony represents the transition from earthly to heavenly life, ending with a traditional Bavarian-style song in which a child explains everything that has come before. This is a magical moment in the repertoire, making this symphony one of Mahler’s favorite works. In the interpretation of the acclaimed Porto conductor Nuno Coelho, titular and artistic director of the Symphony Orchestra of the Principality of Asturias, the symphony will feature the voice of the Portuguese soprano Eduarda Melo, winner of the International Competition of Toulouse.
