Since its debut 10 years ago, XJAZZ! has been recognized as the greatest jazz festival in Berlin. Strongly dedicated to building a local jazz community around values of inclusion, diversity, and open-mindedness, it looks beyond stylistic boundaries and celebrates the intersections of jazz, soul, funk, R&B, and electronic music, fostering the creation of new trends with wide international impact. Released this year, the compilation album Entangled Grounds. The Sounds of XJAZZ! Berlin is the result of a collaboration between some of the brightest minds on the Berlin scene. Two of them are Àbáse and Sera Kalo, the featured artists for tonight at Casa da Música. Both based in Berlin, the first is a Hungarian keyboardist exploring cosmic grooves of unity through jazz, hip hop, electronic music, and sounds from Brazil and West Africa, while the second is a Caribbean-American singer and songwriter equally known for her genre fluidity. — Casa da Música
