"Women with Cameras in Hand, Cinema and Revolution" is the theme of the third special programme proposed for this issue. It also includes, within the general theme of the edition, Women and Revolutions.
Luísa Sequeira (artist, director and film curator) has been invited to join Rita Capucho (artistic director of the festival) in this curatorship that recalls that, for women, the 25th of April was a long time coming. With films from 1975 to 2015, the programme seeks to highlight the contribution of women artists and directors to the construction of other perspectives on the revolutions that have taken place and others that have yet to take place.
This programme consists of two sessions on two different days and in two different locations.
On 17 April, we'll be at Casa Comum with the film "O Aborto Não É Um Crime" (Abortion is not a crime), at 4.15pm, followed by a talk at the Batalha Cinema Centre Bar, at 6.30pm, with a conversation with Débora Diniz and Luciana Brito moderated by Ana Sofia Pereira (FEMGlocal).
On 18 April, the films will be shown at the Batalha Cinema Centre at 5.15pm, followed by a talk at 6.30pm with Luísa Sequeira, Catarina Alves Costa, Raquel Freire and moderated by Ana Sofia Pereira (FEMglocal).
