Silo Auto will host the second edition of BALUARTE - Urban Art Exhibition. Organised by Ágora - Cultura e Desporto, this event brings together various Portuguese and foreign artists who have been invited to think about and create large-scale works on the scale of the walls of this seven-storey concrete colossus. It was once seen as transgressive, but it has earned its place as an identity element of the cities themselves. Urban art will be in the spotlight at this festival, which takes place over the weekends of 12 and 19 October, with a programme for the whole family. On the 7th floor there will be workshops, conferences, illustration fairs, DJ sets and concerts. There will be more than 40 hours of activity with the participation of more than two dozen artists. Guided tours are also planned. During the mornings, visitors of all ages are invited to get hands-on and experiment with techniques, colours and textures, with the guidance of some of the artists present.

There is a before and after to Porto's Urban Art Programme. After ten years, what has changed in the city and how are the artists and their works included in the urban fabric? This conversation seeks to reflect on the impact that the major interventions have had on the city and how they have contributed to the visual harmony of a city that wants to be dynamic and cultural.

Making art accessible to everyone can be easier than you might think. Through collaborative processes, urban art has managed to get closer to cities, their populations and contribute to greater acceptance of artists and works in the public space. Based on concrete examples, where collaborative processes have been essential to the projects developed, the aim will be to demonstrate the importance of art that is open to all, with the participation of all.

DJ set: WILLIAM WOLF
In 2006, passion turned into music. After six years of musical training, at the age of 17 he unexpectedly began his career as a DJ in a student union. That same year, he started playing in three clubs in Póvoa de Varzim. As an amateur dancer, he discovered new musical interests in Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul and House. This experience resulted in invitations to play at events and dance battles.
18:00
Porto Sounds Secret . Mike11
He grew up listening to hip hop and R&B, but began his career singing fado. In 2012, he was honoured as a revelation on the Portuguese guitar and, by the age of 14, he was already one of the greats, hitting all the stages. He took everything he knew with him to the United States, where he learnt, grew and produced several tracks. He became an artist who fuses Portuguese tradition - through the Portuguese guitar and the classical guitar - with R&B melodies, singing to give voice to his songs.
