On March 11, 1975, right-wing forces led by former President António de Spínola attempted a military coup to halt the revolutionary process that began on April 25. The failure of the attack on the RAL1 in Lisbon strengthened popular mobilization and accelerated profound transformations, such as the creation of the Council of the Revolution and the nationalization of strategic sectors.
50 years on, the Núcleo do Norte of Associação José Afonso invites you to revisit this moment and ask: where is the popular force today that united thousands of people to defend the process of transformation that began in April?
On March 11, at 21h00., at the headquarters of AJA Norte (Porto), we will screen the film “Que farei com esta espada?” by João César Monteiro, followed by a debate, live music, socializing and other surprises.
Come and remember, reflect and celebrate April's achievements!
