Age doesn't count. Passion for theatre is not subjugated to our years, it is disobedient to them. Our Theatre Clubs take on this premise in the symbolism of their names. From January to June, the 8 to 88 Theatre Clubs run in parallel, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, but they meet on 25 April for a shared open rehearsal to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our democracy. It is precisely the Carnation Revolution that the Clubs will be exploring this term, taking as their inspiration Fado Alexandrino, the novel by António Lobo Antunes and the show that Nuno Cardoso is bringing to the São João stage based on it. The motto of Um Sonho (A Dream), Strindberg's play that returns in January, serves as a calling card for the Clubs' challenge: "Anything can happen, anything is possible and probable."
