Every Friday in May, the "Porto Amphibian Trail" takes us to various lesser-known places in the city to find out more about the small bodies of water and the fauna and flora that live there.
The challenge of this activity, aimed at anyone who is curious, is to discover the diversity of aquatic life in small bodies of water and discover the creatures that live there. This activity aims to promote appreciation and respect for biodiversity by connecting citizens to naturalised spaces, which are essential for the sustainability of the city. Small bodies of fresh water are natural habitats of great importance in the city's various parks and green spaces, as they provide important ecological services and are ecosystems rich in fauna and flora. In Porto, we can easily see and hear the green frog in various places around the city, but there are many more species to discover.
Registration for the sessions will take place exclusively via an online form available 8 days before each session. We suggest subscribing to Eco Agenda to receive first-hand information about this and other environmental activities organised by the Municipality of Porto.
This Roadmap was developed as part of MoRe Porto - Monitoring and Restoring the Biodiversity of Wetlands in the City of Porto, a project promoted by CIIMAR, funded by the Belmiro de Azevedo Foundation and with the Municipality of Porto as its main strategic partner.
