The film and talk sessions of the film programme O Sabor do Cinema [The Taste of Cinema], interrupted twelve years ago, will resume on October 12 at Casa do Cinema Manoel de Oliveira, henceforth in the form of a spectator school and under the designation of The Knowledge of Cinema.

This new format will have fortnightly sessions on Saturday mornings, between 10 am and 1 pm, which will include screenings of previously unannounced films. Aimed at an adult audience, the sessions will be preceded by a short preamble and followed by a discussion that is intended to be boldly fertile and participatory. At each session, an original text will be distributed.

In conjunction with Serralves Educational Service, whose programming revolves around the theme Alarm Clock, this film programme, by Regina Guimarães and Saguenail, will gloss  over the theme of waking up and falling asleep, discovering and alerting, recognizing and mapping, exploring the unknown, etc in very different ways.
